We replicate the local friend as an AI powered chatbot that shared recommended locations through text messages to the tourist. The recommendations are shared as a route to guide the user into a journey/tour throughout the day. We learn about user’s preferences to guide them to more of what they like. Our team comes from a global background. The founder was once the director of an startup incubator project in Stanford university. Previously she has built two different businesses in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Our back ground is in tourism, international business development and experience design. Because of this, we aim to solve the problem in an innovative and creative way through stories that engage the user and go viral among potential visitors of the destination.

The tourist has only two main options for exploring a destination: hire a tour guide or research to create an itinerary herself. However, every tourist prefers to have recommendations from a local friend on what to see and where to go. The tour guides are impersonal and commercial. Local friends are not always existent and not always knowledgable. The tourist needs a seamless and easy alternative that replaces the tour guide for their expertise. They need a solution that replaces the local friend for accessibility and the same mechanism of easy communication.
